Modern family

In such modern time, ‘Mad Men’, a dark period drama set in the 60’s New York, could even continuously get three ‘Outstand Drama Series’ of Emmy Awards in three years. And ‘Modern Family’, the first time coming to Emmy Awards with its first season, won the top honours at the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards.

‘Modern Family’ took home four more awards, including the best supporting actor trophy, which went to Eric Stonestreet, and an award for its writers, Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd. The series creators, Matthew Weiner and Erin Levy, clinched a second Emmy for writing. “All I wanted to be was a clown in the circus when I was a kid growing up,” Mr. Stonestreet said.

‘Glee’, the musical series, which led with 19 nominations, won an Emmy for supporting actress Jane Lynch and director Ryan Murphy.
