Jane-Lynch-Glee

If you still thought Emmy Awards was just the same show that the same people won the same top honours year after year and didn’t see the live show on Sunday’s night, then it is a big pity for you as 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards is quite a different show that has acquired much praise even from those critics.

Some new blood was added in the comedy categories after years of dominance by 30 Rock and The Office, as “Modern Family” and “Glee” largely battled things out. You could know that from the winners-list at the end of the article.

And you’ll find the same could not be said of the drama awards, although arguably “Mad Men”, which tood best drama for the third year in a row, deserved its victory over Lost(let down by a patchy final season), The Good Wife (solid but not yet spectacular), True Blood (entertainingly crazy but erratic) and Dexter (tailed off after a promising start). Only “Breaking Bad” had a season strong enough to match “Mad Men”, and the show’s other actors were rewarded, especially that Bryan Cranston took the lead actor award for the third consecutive year.

Congratulations to Kyra Sedgwick who finally got her first award after five-time nominations. She was much lucky to beat off hot favourite Julianna Margulies and Mad Men’s January Jones for lead actress.

What’s your impression on 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards? How do you like it? Tomorrow I’ll share some impressive moments that are worth to appreciate and remember.
